Pics From a Few of Our Day-Trips to the Desert

We haven't taken any big trips since Tombstone, but we have taken a few day-trips out to Anza Borrego Desert State Park. Winter and Spring are the best times to go, especially when the wildflowers are in bloom and we have a new Jeep to get us far off the asphalt!

This pic was taken by our friend, Frank. We often go out to the desert with him and his wife. We are at Vista Del Malpais (overlook).

Another pic of Robert at Vista Del Malpais.

Another adventure w/Frank. We are hiking The Slot. It's a 3-mile hike and at times it got rather narrow, thus its name "The Slot."

More pics from the same outing. I can't remember where in the park we were.

Looking for wildflower with my folks. My mom and I would try to identify each flower from a reference book we had.

My new Jeep! I had it less than a week and we were already taking it out to the desert. We are exploring some BLM land south of Anza Borrego SP.

We also saw some Navy helicopters doing some touch-and-gos. We watched for about 15 minutes. It was like having a private airshow. They flew very low and right overhead. We could see them looking down at us. One time they buzzed us and I waved. The guy hanging out the door saluted. It was awesome!
